Biography	Son grand-père aurait été un captif de la bataille d' ʿAyn el-Tamr et se serait converti à l'Islam.- Sa famille est spécialiste dans la transmission des premiers aḫbar et ḥadīṯs.- Acquiert une réputation précoce de savant.- Transmet des traditions en Égypte d'après ses propres garants.- Aurait écrit des Sunan mais le livre aurait disparu.- Inimités avec deux personnes à Médine, ce qui force son départ : Hiśam b. ʿUrwa et Mālik b. Anas.- Mālik b. Anas lui reprocherait d'être śiʿite et qadarite.- Désaccord sur la transmission des ḥadīṯs et des ġazawāt du Prophète.- Jugements opposés sur ce personnage
Biography	His grandfather is assumed to have been taken captive during the battle of ʿAyn el-Tamr and may have converted to Islam.- His family specialized in the transmission of early ḥadīṯs and aḫbār.- He quickly adquired a scholarly reputation.- Transmitted traditions in Egypt from their proper sources and authorities.- He may have written Sunan but the book is lost.- Antagonisms with two personnalities in Medina who forced him to leave: Hiśam b. ʿUrwa and Mālik b. Anas.- Mālik b. Anas reportedly claimed he was śiʿite and a qadarite.- Disagreement on the transmission of the Prophet's ḥadīṯs and ġazawāt.- Opposing judgements exist on this character
