Summary

Summary

Avicenna dedicated this epistle for some of his brothers upon their inquiry about the truth of the human soul. They believed that this kind of knowledge will distinguish them from public, and hence elevate them to the rank of the intellectual elite. Avicenna defines the soul and the faculties of the soul. Then, he mentions the proofs on the different actions of the soul, the separation between soul and body and the eternity of the soul.
