هذا كتاب في الرد على بشر المريسي، فيه الكلام على إثبات صفات الله وأسمائه، ودحض ونقض حجج الجهمية في أسلوب لاذع وعبارة قوية إلا أن شدة الحرص على إثبات أسماء الله وصفاته جعلت المؤلف يثبت ما كان اﻷولى أن يتوقف عنده ويقتصر على الثابت من الكتاب والسنة الصحيحة، كمثل ما جاء عنه في الجسم والمكان والحيز. وتشقيقات مباحث اﻷسماء والصفات أدخلوها في العقائد وليست كذلك، وكثر فيها الاختلاف واﻷصل فيها وجوب التنزيه في حق الله تعالى تفويضا أو تأويلا.

Summary

This book is a reply to Bišr al-Marīsī refuting the views of al-Ǧahmiyya regarding the attributes of Allāh. The author's language is very powerful with Snappy style to defend his issue, however, he proved what should have been stopped at with referring only to what was apparently stated in the Holy Qurʾān and sound traditions. Among theses issues intensively proved by him are body, place, and space, with regard to Allāh (Glorified be He). The truth is, the issue of narrated attributes, together with its detailed interpretations, is not to be included in theological issues.It is a controversial issue,ạnd therefore, the main theological issue that one should abide by is the glorification of Allāh, whatever methodological approach he adopts.
