هذا سجل حافل بتراجم عشرات العلماء والمؤرخين والأدباء والشعراء وغيرهم ممن عرفتهم مدينة بجاية من مشاهير أعلام الجزائر وتونس والمغرب والأندلس، في القرن السابع الهجري. صرح المؤلف في مقدمته بأنه ألحق بهؤلاء ذكر الشيخ أبي مدين، والشيخ أبي علي المسيلي والفقيه أبي محمد الاشبيلي، لقرب عهدهم والتبرك بأحوالهم، ثم تلاهم بذكر مشيخته وأعلام إفادته، حتى استوفاهم جميعا.

Summary

This book contains a collective biography of scholars, historians, men of letters, poets, and other Muslim figures in Biǧāya (Bejaia) during the seventh century. The author stated in the introduction that he is to start by mentioning three Sheiks; Abū Madyan, Abū ʿAlī al-Masīlī, and Abū Muḥammad al-Išbīlī, being close to the seventh century and seeking their blessings. Following this, he mentions his Sheiks till the end of the seventh century.
